We will not ask for these documents immediately. However, once your application is approved, we will work with you to acquire them and get you ready for your placement. To avoid delays later, it’s important to start preparing these items now. Being organised in advance will save you time and reduce stress, especially for documents that may take up to seven weeks or more to obtain.

Before you begin the documentation process, check your passport. It must be valid and should have at least six months remaining from your expected departure date. Many countries will not allow entry if your passport is close to expiry.
If your passport is due to expire soon (less than seven months), consider applying for a new one now. Processing times can vary, but it can take up to 10 weeks to receive a new passport (depending on your location).

You must:
Declare any previous criminal convictions
Provide a recent UK Enhanced DBS certificate (issued within the past 12 months). If you are a British national residing abroad, you are still required to provide a certificate. Police clearance certificates may also be accepted. We will advise you on what to do when you reach this stage.
Be willing to undergo additional international background checks as required.

We require two professional references (from your previous or current place of work). For each referee, we will need:
Full name and job title
Name of the institution or school
Email address and phone number
Your professional relationship with the referee (e.g. line manager, headteacher)

Essential Documents:
Updated CV/resumé, tailored for international teaching roles
Scanned copies of:
Passport (valid for at least 6–12 months)
Degree certificates and transcripts
Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, B.Ed., etc.)
Police clearance/DBS (from your home country or current location)
Proof of vaccinations (if required by country or employer)
Marriage or birth certificates (if relocating with dependents)
Recent passport-sized photograph and a professional headshot
